Dr. Aluisio is a native of New Hyde Park, N.Y.
He received his B.A. degree in chemistry and sociology from Emory University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He also received his M.D. degree from Emory where he was awarded a Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation Graduate Fellowship and a NIH Research Fellowship. Dr. Aluisio served his surgical internship and Orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center, where he actively participated in the Orthopaedic care of the Duke athletic teams.
Dr. Aluisio completed the Otto E. Aufranc Adult Reconstructive Fellowship in Boston, Massachusetts where his training consisted of complex joint replacement surgery and the treatment of degenerative joint conditions. He joined Greensboro Orthopaedic Center in 1998 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
He has published several articles and book chapters, presented at national and international Orthopaedic meetings, and co-authored the book "Orthopaedics for the House Officer-2nd edition." His research on hip arthroscopy has gained international recognition.
Dr. Aluisio's non-professional interests include sports, exercise, and his family. He is married to the former Karen Weiss and they have four children, Nicolette, Matthew, Tyler and Gabrielle.
