Dr. Brooks is a native of Guilderland, New York.

He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester and received his Medical Degree from Cornell University Medical College.

He completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic residency at the University of Rochester, and his Spine Fellowship at the State University of New York at Syracuse University.  His training focused on degenerative conditions of the spine as well as, spinal malignancy, trauma, and deformity.

Prior to joining Greensboro Orthopaedics he was an Associate Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Massachusetts Dr. Brooks was responsible for resident and medical student education as well as maintaining an active spine practice managing complex spinal pathology.  During his tenure at the University he published several articles in peer reviewed journals, authored book chapters, lectured at national and local spine society meetings.

Dr. Brooks received his board certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is an active member of the Cervical Spine Research Society, North American Spine Society, Spine Arthroplasty Society, J. Robert Gladden Orthopedic Society and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. 

He joined the Greensboro Orthopaedic Center in April 2008.  His practice interests include spinal deformity, trauma, and malignancy, degenerative conditions of the spine, as well as, total disc replacement, kyphoplasty, and minimally invasive surgery.

His non-professional interests include spending time with his family, golf, and SCUBA diving.  He has two children Jason Dahari and Alexandria Isis and is married to Michelle Rose.
