Dooley Underwood III, PA-C

Dooley "Woody"  Underwood is a native of West Palm Beach, Florida. He received his Physician Assistant Certification from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University.  Mr. Underwood has served as Clinical Coordinator of the Hand and Microsurgery Center of the Wake Forest University Physicians and was a clinical Instructor of the Physician Assistant Program.  He was lead Physician Assistant in the Emergency Department of the New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, NC participating in all areas of emergency medicine with emphysis on Orthopaedic trauma.  While serving as a Medical Corpsman in the United States Navy, he was an Operating Room Instructor with a speciality in Orthopedics.

Mr. Underwood is Board Certified by the National Commission on the Certified Physician Assistants and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.  He is past President of the Guilford County Physician Extenders and has served as Chairman on the Peer Review Committee of Wesley Long Hospital. He is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.

Mr. Underwood joined Greensboro Orthopaedics as Senior Physician Assistant in 1991.

Woody's non professional interests include fishing, oil painting and spending time with his family.  He is married to Becky and they enjoy their combined families.
