Dr. Gioffre is a native of Beaver Fall, PA. He received his B.S. Degree from Geneva College and his M.D. Degree from Marquette University Medical School. Dr. Gioffre served his surgical internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was awarded a Silver Star in Vietnam. After service as a Naval physician at St. Albans Naval Hospital in New York, he completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.

Following private orthopaedic practice in Miami and Greensboro, Dr. Gioffre merged with Greensboro Orthopaedic Center in 1983. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He has served as Chief of Staff at Wesley Long Hospital.

His non-professional interests include golf and Bible Study Fellowship for Men. He is married to the former Nancy Almquist, and they have three adult children, Jennifer, Sean, and Ryan and two grandchildren Gloria Grace Poland and Christian Luke Poland.
